This is a 48 minute black and white film of Scottish Post Rock band Mogwai playing live at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, in April 2009. It’s atmospherically shot using shadows and light by Vincent Moon and Nathanael Le Scouarnec with additional images by Jeremiah and Antoine Laurent. It captures Mogwai at their jamming best, a cross between Pink Floyd, Sigur Ros and a bulldozer. I saw them live at Solana Beach in California and watched the crowd surrender to them – no singer, no one cared. Atmospheric, powerful, dynamic, don’t miss them if they come to your town.
