Sweet Gum Tree is a project put together by the immensely talented Arno Sojo – I will let you read about his previous projects in links to bios. This album is a sophisticated, melodic, moody pop with a string section from Minsk in White Russia complimenting the guitars. It is a rich tapestry of intertwining, beautiful sounds with Arno’s expressive voice and poignant lyrics. As we will also be touring with the string section, please try and come and see this special show live.
The album also features Isobel Campbell on vocals on the song Birds of Passage. Campbell is a classically trained cellist and vocalist that played with Belle & Sebastian for 6 years and has also made two albums with her own band The Gentle Waves and two solo albums under her own name. She has also made 3 albums with Mark Lanegan, former Screaming Trees and occasional Queens Of The Stone Age singer. The album also features Tinderstick’s drummer Earl Harvin – and me.
The album is released through Cadiz Music in the UK (coincidentally the same label that released The Saints album Nothing Is Straight In My House that I played on) and is also available though Amazon. There is a limited run of must have double vinyl on Arno’s own Dreamy Bird label available here:
See you on tour!
