21/10/15 – Woodstock – The Lost Performances – 1969

Video Of The Day

Woodstock, 1969Returning from Mexico City with a quick trip to Woodstock to hang with Jules and Pal before returning to Stockholm. There we contemplated Bob Dylan’s Woodstock house (now occupied by Donald Fagen), the big pink, the Byrdcliff theatre, Bearsville and Todd Rundgren. Although actually making the pilgrimage to the Woodstock site proved difficult as Bethel, where the festival was actually held is 90 miles from Woodstock.

The film didn’t include all the acts that played – can you imagine being one of these bands, one of the lesser known bands like Sweetwater or Quill when you consider what the film did for the featured artists? This video shows some of them.

See you in Stockholm.

Bands omitted from the film:

Sweetwater
Incredible String Band
Bert Sommer
Tim Hardin
Ravi Shankar
Melanie
Quill
Keef Hartley
Mountain
Grateful Dead (a Jerry Garcia interview is included)
Creedence Clearwater Revival
The Band
Blood, Sweat & Tears
Johnny and Edgar Winter
Paul Butterfield
