24/2/16 – The KVB – In Deep/ Never Enough – 2016

Song Of The Day

The KVB B:W picIn Deep comes from the upcoming fifth album of a band you’ve never heard of. They are a Berlin/London, male/female duo that sound like The Jesus And Mary Train meet House Of Love (on this track) which means they are not as traditional as House of Love and not as distorted as The Jesus And Mary Chain. Their other sounds are far more like experimental synth orientated music from the early eighties.

The KVB are Nicholas Wood and Kat Day, Woods seems to be the singer, the vocals are generally buried, the synths sounds analog with lots of giant knobs and wires and the drum machines are muddy and moody.

The second track, Never Enough, marked as a demo, has some classic grinding synth and a distorted stringed instrument. Perfect music for a grey February in an industrial town in Germany in the rain where primary colours have been banned and happiness is served in metal cups.

The latest album Of Desire is expected in March and the band will be playing throughout Europe in March and April.
