Lush return after nearly two decades sounding like the version of themselves that has been handed down through time, that is the hipper Dream Pop side rather than the twee Pop side. A terrible video that might have attempted something a little more ‘dreamy’ only confuses the issue. Musically it’s falling just on the right side of ability versus ideas.
A new 4-track EP on their own Edamamae label is expected in April with songs written by Emma Anderson and Miki Berenyi. The band has reformed with original member Phil King on bass but replaces Chris Acland with Justin Welch on drums. Acland tragically committed suicide in 1996 leading to the break up of the band. The EP is produced by Ladytron’s Daniel Hunt with Jim Abbiss – a new album is expected to follow.

I met Miki Berenyi once in L.A., after being introduced she said ”Wait a minute, who am I meeting?” It made me feel like she might have had one too many schmooze nights out. Tour dates are listed below.
