Music today was an exploration into new albums with contemporary female singers, Birdy – Young Heart (2021), London Grammar – Californian Soil (2021), Phoebe Bridgers – Punisher (2020), Julien Baker – Little Oblivions (2021), Lana Del Rey – Chemtrails Over The Country Club (2021), and Taylor Swift – Folklore (2020). All these records have different styles, different qualities, different audiences and I didn’t even get to Laura Marling, FKA Twigs, Billie Eilish, or Anna Calvi. Valerie June, St. Vincent, Wolf Alice, AA Williams, Jane Weaver, Yasmine Hamdan, Fiona Apple, TT, Warpaint, Rumer, Dry Cleaning, First Aid Kit, King Hannah, Agnes Obel, Weyes Blood, Siv Jakobsen and Lou Doillon…and all the others, great if you like this kind of thing.
