16/1/24 – MARTY’S DAILY ALBUM PICKS

Music today has been The RonettesPresenting the Fabulous Ronettes featuring Veronica (1964). They only made one album but what a legacy. The band was a family affair, Veronica Bennet (who became Ronnie Spector of course), her sister Estelle Bennett and cousin Nedra Talley (originally performing as the Darling Sisters). They changed their name to The Ronettes when nutter Phil Spector signed them in 1963. I saw Ronnie perform once when I was playing with The Saints at Joey Ramone’s birthday bash in New York at Irving Plaza.
