Music today has taken me to the small village of Weesp in The Netherlands and a band I’ve always really liked. I’ve seen them live twice, once in LA and once in their home country. It’s Bettie Serveert (Bettie Serves in English). Betty Stöve was a famous seventies Dutch tennis player. I’ve always liked their debut album Palomine (1992) a lot, have continued to follow them, and have most of their records. Carol van Dijk has a special quality in her voice and writes some very cool songs. Check it out. If you were there then, you’ll know how good it is. Shout out to long-time members Peter Visser on guitar and Herman Bunskoeke on bass.
