22/2/24 – MARTY’S DAILY ALBUM PICKS

Music today has been The ByrdsThe Notorious Byrd Brothers (1968). It doesn’t seem to show up anywhere, wherever anywhere is. It’s all about Sweetheart of the Rodeo, released in the same year. It was the invention of country rock with Gram Parsons versus the progressive folk psychedelia of the previous album and the idea of that progression seems to have outlasted the quality of the previous album due to style. Americana is a direct result of Sweetheart.
