Well, you’ve seen the pictures (and if not, go to the In Deep Music Archive Facebook page), and we are doing our best to get everything out of the boxes into the shelves, but we need the space to open the boxes and get them into their place. Sarah is with us till Sunday evening, doing a sterling job in the CD room. The second batch of LPs arrives on Wednesday morning at 5 AM and then Olivia’s dad is here on Friday. By then, I hope to have the space to be more efficient at getting LPs and CDs into their place. It looks like we are going to be ten shelves short for the CDs. So far, the ones we want at IKEA (black Gnedby) aren’t available, plus it’s another 450 euros at 45 euros each. I saw some on FB Marketplace, 5 for 25 euros each, only problem is that they are in the Algarve – holiday, haha.
It’s Good Friday and it seems that instead of the death disco, they had a band tonight that stopped at 3 AM, result. I’m not sure how many people are out and about during the night, it’s been chilly. In Lisbon, there was a tornado and flash floods – but soon the Southern European sun will be back, it makes such a difference to the city vibe. It’s not exactly Rotherham when it’s raining (sorry, Rotherhamites) but the city gets that holiday vibe when the sun comes out.
I’ve been going through Aunty Gwen’s CDs. It seems she collected all the Pop Idol and X Factor winners (and losers). It’s not my cuppa char, but I feel like I should add them to The Archive because the collection is supposed to be eclectic – I don’t have to love everything or ever play it, I’ll never even get to all the albums I love. Maybe someone out there will see an album by Will Young and be glad that it’s not all Speed, Glue & Shinki.
Olivia has been admin-ing it and looking amazing tonight, she went to see her friend “The Tiny Musician” play which is funny because Olivia is tall, and in the right shoes towering above most people, especially here in Portugal so when she’s with Joana one wonders where they both got their skeletons. She came home and cooked and Sarah and I got on with different sorting stations with me wondering about Aunty Gwen’s André Rieu collection (haha) and needing more empty boxes to separate the different CD sections until we can get those extra shelves.
