TO WHERE I AM NOW

So, for all of you that are dying to know if it survived? Yes, it did, as did the rest of the box. What am I talking about? Probably my most valuable record (money-wise) — The BeatlesButcher album. I’ve been worried about it as I hadn’t found the box with all the early Beatles albums, different versions from different countries, different covers and The Butcher was right in the middle of them, luckily the whole box survived as did the whole Dylan box, the mass of Patti Smith and CAN albums, The Floyd box, King Crimson records, and all the newer records except The FursMade of Rain (2020) got wet but was not as destroyed as the aforementioned GilmourGda?sk box set. I’m still holding out hope for the Miles Davis box, which I am yet to find.

The classical records are now in the front room, but it looks like I’m going to need more shelves in there and for you IKEA aficionados, I’m going to have to put Kallax on the Ivars. In the week a man is delivering one black Gnedby and Worten (a shop) is delivering a multi-CD shelf – again, they came today twice, but we missed them so we need to be around in the morning for when they arrive. As IKEA have stopped making the Gnedby in black, we need to search FB marketplace and other online sites for second-hand ones – IKEA do still do a white Gnedby – but it’s white. Fascinating to know that the amazing collection is nothing without the shelving.

It was a lovely day today that I only just caught the end of the way to and from the psychedelic psupermarket. Olivia on the other hand had gone to the German school to find out about private tutoring. As it was close to Foz, she went to see the sea and walked back to The Archive. I had a sesh with John Pasagiannis in Brooklyn and dinner over Star Trek: Discovery which will be done by the end of the week, it’s not good, but we still have to watch it as Trekkies – like you still have to buy Egypt Station for Paul, The Final Cut for Dave, and Cut the Crap for Joe, but you probably shouldn’t.

Tomorrow is catch-up on the ‘mixes’ day, they are coming at me from all angles but so are the boxes and I have to find a way to get back on track here whilst still fighting to get in the door. I hope to see some progress on other things tomorrow, so the ongoing box and shelf war can carry on into the future.

Music today has been The BeatlesButcher Album (Yesterday and Today) in celebration of its survival – and no, it’s not anywhere near the value of the one on eBay.
