9/7/24 – MARTY’S DAILY ALBUM PICKS

Music today has been Pink FairiesNever Never Land (1971). The pre-Larry Wallis version of the band, with Paul Rudolph, Duncan Sanderson, Russel Hunter and Twink, that grew out of the Ladbroke Grove freak scene – anarchic doesn’t really cover it (I lived in Ladbroke Grove for three years) but the songs, the sound, are truly something else, sort of like Syd Barrett if he was a punk. I love this band, always did, read the Wikipedia pages, buy the records. RIP Larry Wallis, Duncan Sanderson and Russell Hunter who were the lineup on the Kings of Oblivion album (1973).
