Getting ready for the first YouTube series interview tomorrow, the logistics, planning the times and Olivia unfortunately isn’t here to make sure all the t’s are dotted and the i’s crossed, haha, get the picture. But we have to get going on this, trying to find a way to monetise The Archive. Rent will be a struggle next month and we have to get projects into action. I will let you know how it goes in tomorrow’s blog, but it’s a new ideas chapter, let’s see if we can pull it off.
I saw Xico in the secondhand swap shop today, Carlos in the music store and Rui in Tubitek, the new-releases store. I didn’t buy anything or swap anything, I’m going to have to ease off on the new releases because they are just so damn expensive. I need the Intergalactic Martian/Venus Record Buying Conglomerate to give a stipend to The Archive to preserve music for future Martian and Venusian children…Earthlings too.
The coffee shop had water today and the psychedelic psupermarket beckoned as I considered dinner without Olivia. I went mad and bought a gruesome green broccoli, pink potatoes, and blue bread, three jars of holographic honey and a bottle of orange olive oil. The beans were so jealous when I got in. I had a bit of a busy evening with seshes, so I was cooking one thing at a time. I was wondering when I would actually get to eat it but as it happened one of the seshes fell by the wayside, so I ate instead and talked to Olivia.
Olivia installed a PayPal donate button/link for any trillionaires who might consider the preservation of records a worthy cause. Tonight I sorted out all the loose French records. The French shelves are getting pretty full with a rather diverse collection of music from Magma to Édith Piaf and many mixed genres in between.
My first sesh tonight was with Daniel in Arkansas and we discussed why it was pronounced that way and we decided to hang it on the French. It’s also how I ended up with the Amen Dunes album as the album of the day from Daniel’s recommendation. I have Love (2014) but Daniel told me that Freedom was the one and I listened and liked it, odd voice. There’s a new album coming for those who are interested called Death Jokes (2024).
Second sesh was with NJ Brian as we continue with the Valley of Salt project with new mixes for the second album before the first is released. But, we are working on getting it out there – there’s lots of artwork and credits and lyrics and as it will be self-released through In Deep, logistics galore. It’s not really what the youth or the majors are looking for, but we do it for ourselves, don’t we?
