My temperature was the highest it had been, 38.3°C. If I was under the blanket I was too hot, without the blanket I was too cold, I guess that’s fever. It was another sleepless night that had me wandering around at 8.30 AM after retiring at 5.30 AM. By midday, I was really tired and not as hot, so I tried to lie down and succeeded in sleeping till 3 PM. So now, I feel OK, not so hot and symptoms are less powerful than before. I hope it lasts as we have a show in Spain on Saturday. I tested my temperature today. It was 36.2°C, two degrees less. Here’s the ticket link.
Carlos was coming over today, but as my hours are all over the place and my cough had something to say about it, we decided to do it another day. He was coming over to assess the state of the covers on some of the damaged vinyl and as he was previously an art restorer he can do a job on some of these and rescue some of them, not all, too much damage, and general water damage doesn’t give you a lot of options. So that’s something for the return from Spain.
Back in the fridge, I was trying to plan it out with us going away some hours after Olivia is back. You know when you are trying to use everything up, timing it perfectly so you don’t have to throw anything away or keep it because you know it will be off by the time you get back. Preparing for the return and the leaving. These last few days were going to be more records away, progress in The Archive so when Olivia returned, space would be the vinyl frontier, but no, I wasn’t able to boldly go where no record has gone before.
Yesterday, FB in their wisdom took my post down. We came to the conclusion that it was because of the cover of JJ’s album and the title. When will common sense ever reign, there was nothing untoward about the pic, talk about reading something into where there wasn’t anything and yet the haters run free all over the net. I guess this is going to be the problem with AI, it can’t tell the difference between benign and rancid.
What I’m looking forward to is going outside! The simple joy of walking in the street, looking up at the sky and feeling the buzz of the city. I’m fighting to get better, and tomorrow I have a sesh, not a problem, it’s not like I’m bedridden, but the next day my mate Dan and his wife are visiting. They have moved to the Azores, after living in the Caymans and before that in California. This will be a face-to-face to show them The Archive, I’d better be better for that as I’d better be better for going to Spain, it’s going to be fine.

Music today has been Flyte and their self-titled third album, somehow they remind me of Simon & Garfunkel despite coming from London. I wish all these bands I recommend would send me their albums for The Archive. I can’t buy all of them unless the lottery gods decide I can – I suppose I should start doing the lottery then, or at least send some Emails to some bands and their labels. One of the tracks features the great Laura Marling, who will herself have a new album out this year.
