Founded and curated by Marty Willson-Piper, the In Deep Music Archive is far more than a collection — it is a living celebration of music culture in all its forms.

Located in the heart of Porto, Portugal, the archive houses more than 65,000 records and physical media items, gathered over five decades of passionate collecting, exploration, and preservation.

Inside the archive is an expansive world of sound and music history: vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, reel-to-reel tapes, 8-tracks, 78RPM records, VHS tapes, DVDs, laserdiscs, books, encyclopedias, catalogues, biographies, magazines, and rare memorabilia from across generations of recorded music.

Every shelf tells a story. Many pieces were discovered during Marty’s travels through record stores around the world, while others were gifted by fellow musicians, friends, fans, collectors, and record labels throughout the years.

More than an archive, In Deep is a cultural space built on curiosity, preservation, conversation, and discovery — a place where forgotten recordings, legendary albums, underground scenes, and personal musical histories continue to live and breathe.
